Reflection
For this piece, I wanted to make some sort of mask and give it an intricate design like on jester masks or just a porcelain mask. To make this, I rolled out a slab of clay and laid it on a face mold, then cut around to get the shape I wanted for the mask. I then waited for it to dry before I used a cookie cutter to cut the flower eye shapes. After that, I painted the face fully white and did a pencil sketch of the design I wanted to do. Next, I knew I wanted to do Blue, sort of like fine china, and very carefully went over my pre-drawn lines. I then clear-glazed. I enjoy how it turned out. I only wish the colors turned out slightly lighter, like when I first painted. Other than that, I love the Piece.

Reflection
For this piece, I liked how my first mask came out and wanted to make another; however, I don't like how this one turned out as much. I did the same steps as the last mask, so I rolled a large slab, dropped it into the mask mold, cut out the shape of the mask I wanted, and then used a star cookie cutter to cut out the eyes. I wish I had sketched on the piece like I did with the first one, and I wish I had tried a little more because the design is messy and not what I enjoyed.

Reflection
For this piece, I wanted to design a dome shape with the holes to let light through, so what I did was make two pinch pots and put them together. Once I smooth out the pots into a ball, I cut a line through the middle and let them both dry. After they dried, I used a cookie cutter shape and cut circles in the one I designated as the top. Next, I made a clay flower to use as the lid piece, just to add more interest to the top since the bottom was quite boring. I then made the bottom have a fitted piece so the lid would slide off. I then painted it in bright colors. What I liked about the pice is defiantly the flower and the concept however, I do wish I spent more time on it I had to rush due to spring break so I didn't get to put as much detail as I originally hoped to.
Semester 2 Final

Reflection
This piece is my platter for the semester 2 final. The way I made it was I had laid a large slab out and cut it into a circle using a large flat plate as a reference. I then wanted to make a wavy took on the sides, so I put sponges and newspaper under each area where I wanted there to be a bump. I then smoothed out the piece and let it dry for a day. Then for the design, I know I wanted to do a fruit design sort of as redemption for my last year's semester two final, where I hated how it looked. I also really enjoy how I painted this piece, as I painted flowers on each of the bumps and small grapes on the indents, and then did a design in the middle that had green grapes, flowers, and strawberries. I like this piece because of the shaping, and I enjoy the painting of the fruit. I do wish I spent slightly more time on painting, but I'm pretty sure I was rushing at the end of the painting process
